Laminin….it is an amazing molecule. The following is the definition of Laminin, as found on wikipedia:

Laminin is a protein found in the extracellular matrix, the sheets of protein that form the substrate of all internal organs also called the basement membrane. It is the major non-collagenous component of the basal lamina, such as those on which cells of an epithelium sit.[1] It has four arms that can bind to four other molecules. The three shorter arms are particularly good at bindingto other laminin molecules, which is what makes it so great at forming sheets. The long arm is capable of binding to cells, which helps anchor the actual organs to the membrane.

Structurally, the laminin protein is made up of three polypeptide chains – α, β and γ, giving it a total of six “ends”, accounting for a lot of its flexibility in connecting various molecules.

They are a family of glycoproteinsthat are an integral part of the structural scaffolding in almost every animal tissue. Laminins are secreted and incorporated into cell-associated extracellular matrices.

Laminin is vital to making sure overall body structures hold together. Improper production of laminin can cause muscles to form improperly, leading to a form of muscular dystrophy.

Now it is amazing what the function of this little molecule is…laminin is responsible for holding all of our body structures together…basically, it is the rebar of our body’s….

But what is most amazing is actually what laminin looks like, or the sight of it. So I guess I should show you a picture of laminin…..

Actual Lamininlaminin diagram picture

That’s right, laminin is in the shape of a cross. Wow. Laminin, the very thing that holds our bodies together, is in the shape of a cross.

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God!” -1 Corinthians 1:18

And that is exactly what the cross is; the Power and Love of God…who did not withhold his Son (Jesus) from us, but gave Jesus to be crucified in exchange for us to be able to have life with Him. Jesus is the mediator between us and God. He is the way the truth and the life. No one can reach God except through Jesus, who holds all things together. Many will say this is just a coincidence, but ask yourself what you think; the very molecule that holds our body’s together is in the shape of a cross, the very place Jesus did the very deed that truly holds us together.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. -Colossians 1:15-17

Here is the clip from the “How Great Is Our God” video that revealed this marvelous wonder to me by Louie Giglio:

We are fearfully and wonderfully made. Know that God cares for you so much! God sent Jesus to pay your ransom, your debt. He will hold you together in any and every circumstance you will be in. So learn to trust Him. You can purchase the whole video “How Great Is Our God” on the amazon link to the right (it is REALLY amazing!)

I hope you got a lot out of this post. I know that the first time I encountered laminin God broke down some big walls in my life. If you did get a lot out of this post, be sure to share it with your friends on Twitter or Facebook via the “Tweet” and “Share” boxes at the top of the page (or any other way you can). It is through readers like you that this site gets exposed. Thank You : )

I just read what honest skeptic wrote. That person stated that a cross is designed for something that needs strength. Scripture tells us “wait upon The Lord and renew your strength. Amen

  • Taona December 31, 2013, 2:33 pm

Thank God for everything. Even creation speaks of Him :) . Glory Be to God.

  • michael December 18, 2013, 3:31 pm

thanks to the skeptic…….he said in his own words….”the Cross(great for anything designed for strength).”

  • Honest Skeptic Forensics December 11, 2013, 1:38 pm

I will be honest in this response, and to some it will not seem polite even though it is. There is just no way to please those who choose to be offended.
This is a response to the one who called himself the “Honest” Skeptic and all who have embittered themselves with illogical unbelief. Bitterness has a vicious way of doing that to the thought process.
First, before Hitler borrowed the Swastika and reversed it, the eastern people, Chinese and such have used the Swastika for centuries in their art. It was widely used in ancient times as a symbol of prosperity and good fortune. It originally represented the revolving sun, fire, or life. One of the oldest known Swastikas was painted on a paleolithic cave at least 10,000 years ago. In Sanskrit it meant, “It is well”. Hitler, the genuis that he was, reversed the Swastika. HHHMMMMmmm and it’s meaning.
To all, you must realize that the One Who made the cross popular forewarned us through His disciples that the “Cross” will be an offense to some.
Proof? yes: Gal.5:11 “And I, brethren, if I yet preach …, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offense of the cross done away with?” The obvious answer is NO! otherwise why would an “HONEST” Skeptic even care? The answer is that he does care, because he is offended. By what? The Cross of course. What is it about Crosses with these guys? It is the same thing that it was with all of us. The Cross of the Messiah proves the barbarity and cruelty of man is without justification. Just read a newspaper. The twist of mans reasoning for his actions never ceases.
And part of the offense is that God has anything to do with torture and cruelty. Not that he made binding protiens in an orderly fashion which resembles a cross like Laminin, or some other order like Dynein, Kinesin, Qualia, IGF-binding Protein complex, IL-18, Etc., Etc.. At the end of the day they all have one thing in common. ORDER, DESIGN. Hence there is a Designer. Now combine that with the cross and you have the mixings of an OFFENSE. The Cross in the Greek mind, or (non-Jewish), meant weakness, disgrace, shame, intellectual inadquecy, strength inadquecy. Those are offensive things and they are all about us.
We’re all destine to die anyway. Cross or no cross. It was a punishment that would not let the offender even get on his knees to show that he repented, if he wanted to. But Jesus was the focus of the cross. He willing took on all of the scum of the world on his shoulders or literally in his flesh.

    Lets
    BE
    HONEST
WE cannot get our perfect little crosses in our bodies to make up for one stupid thought in our mind. It never worked before and it never will.
All the binding proteins in the world are not going to hold us together on Judgement Day.
All the Science we could cram into our brains is going to make us good.
All the excuses for our actions will not justify us,(to find excuses please refer to a newspaper or police records).
Jesus is the rock that we stumble on. Fall on the rock and let the hurt come to your pride, or in the end you will be crushed under the weight of the Rock of Offense. Jesus, Yeshua, the one who went to the cross for you. Paid your debt in full. He got the science right. Let your bitterness go, it is not worth the pain. And stop looking for imperfections in the human body, cause you will find them. Proteins and all. Will you lay your skepticism on the Rock too? Believe Him. Cause the only Rock you came from was the Rock of Offense Himself, Jesus The Christ, The Lord of All. And don’t call yourself “honest”, let the One Who got it right do that.

This is great they just showed a DVD of this at my church.

We must praise God for the many things He has done in creation. Although laminin in itself does not prove the existance of God, atheists and a lot of scientists will use any excuse to deny the existance of Him. Most of their reasons are because they cannot cope with the fact we are all responsible for nailing Jesus to the cross. The idea of grace from a saviour who is not only eternal but forgives everything is completely alien to them, they would sooner believe that we came from monkeys (the biggest joke of all). Lets not become fixed on anything except Jesus and thank Him for His outrageous love and miracle of creation.

    God is awesome

  • Vkey June 24, 2013, 10:41 am

I think it is so like humans to try explain things away. Honest Skeptic it is hard to see from our eyes and our small brains how there is a power beyond anything you can absorb. God still loves you and the power of the cross is everywhere. He made it simple enough for us if we will just take the gift. May the peace of God in all His glory come into your heart. I wish you love and peace.

  • onyebuchi henry June 23, 2013, 2:37 am

it’s awesome but not the only protein that binds us together why lay much emphasis on so called laminin or is it because it has the shape of a cross.

  • Cece Roxx April 12, 2013, 7:54 am

This is proof of Jesus, guys, if you don’t believe after seeing something like like, you have obviously turned your heart away, and nothing will stir you. I am sharing this with every person I know, because it is so important. I want everyone I know to become a Christian so that they can all know what it feels like. Thank you for this! :)

  • honest skeptic March 4, 2013, 5:00 pm

First of all, I’d like to say, I’m a skeptic, but I’d appreciate it if my comment weren’t censored. I’ll be polite.

Anyways, laminin more often forms the shape of a swastika than a cross, the pictoral representation is just that, a representation. Picturing something as a cross makes it easier to remember what molecules look like, rather than having to think in terms of mushy bendy stringy proteins. Furthermore, it is not “the” substance that “holds us together”. It is just one of very many, many, many other proteins with far more important functions (collegen, for example, looks more like two snakes coiled up, does that mean it’s the Devil’s doing? No.). Even more than that, a cross is a VERY simple shape, and is repeated across nature many times, same with many other shapes. The only reason laminin assumes a (sort of) cross-like shape is because a cross is a very structurally stable shape, and also allows multiple simultaneous binding spots (great for anything designed for strength).

To be quite honest, praising laminin as “proof” is embarrasing yourselves. Try to find more solid arguments, every skeptic will laugh at this and even many believers. Just a suggestion, try using “qualia” (a philosophical/psychological phenomenon which causes the “hard problem of consionsness” and which science is still unable to explain) as evidence. Although qualia are not “evidence” imo, they are still far more solid in an argument than the appearence of a relatively simple shape amoung many hundreds of thousands of other proteins, thousands of which assist in “holding our body together”. Laminin’s no more “evidence” than the fact that fibrin (a substance in the blood that forms from fibrinogen during a blood clot) looks like tangled spaghetti, and fibrin could be seen as the protein that helps heal wounds. Does that mean that, because a protein looks like spaghetti and heals us, means that it is evidence of the Flying Spaghetti Monster? No. Laminin vaugly resembles a plus/cross, fibrin (and many other proteins) resemble spaghetti, cathepsin can resemble a three-pronged swastika, kinesin/dynein resemble walking humans (seriously, look kinesin or dynein up, it looks pretty amazing), and various cytoskelletal (the protein “skelleton” within our cells) can often take the form of pentagrams, star of davids, and other symmetrical shapes.

When you find a type of collegen that spells out “our lord and savior” or something along those lines, then you can boast about it. Laminin is really nothing.

from the time we were born to death the Lord is always in/with us.Amen.

how awsome is this just more proof to those who dont believe

  • JohnM July 27, 2012, 4:48 am

I am also amazed with this laminin thing discovery!
Praise God for giving us this type of Molecules in our body to support every living cells we have
    .
But have you ever heard about Laminine too?

Have just seen Louis Giglio’s video. Laminin just blew me away!! Surely God knew us before we were born and knows all about each one of us. May God bless you all (from New Zealand.)

  • geoff humphries December 17, 2011, 9:54 pm

This is amazing ,I was told about this and I decided to look it up. What I saw just blew me away , and brought me to tears ,it still brings me to tears . Knowing we are loved by an all powerful loving GOD. We certainly are fearfully and wonderfuuly made AMEN.

  • Tiffani September 13, 2010, 6:37 pm

Wow, I find it no coiencidence that laminin is made up of three seperate strainds…think I know of another three in one combo…

  • Colton September 3, 2010, 5:25 pm
