This is a beautiful song (Lead Me) by Sanctus Real about what it means to be a husband and a father!! It is very inspirational!! I was Truly touched when I heard this song, and I had to post the lyrics and chords/tabs to it on L4J right away! I encourage you all to at least read the lyrics like a poem. Enjoy!!

Song Title: Lead Me
By: Sanctus Real
Capo 1
Intro: C-Am
Verse 1:
C Am
I look around and see my wonderful life

Almost perfect from the outside
C
In picture frames I see my beautiful wife
Am
Always smiling
               G
But on the inside, I can hear her saying...
Chorus 1:
C
Lead me with strong hands
G
Stand up when I can't
      F
Don't leave me hungry for love
        Am G
Chasing dreams, what about us?
C
Show me you're willing to fight
     G
That I'm still the love of your life
  F
I know we call this our home
    Am G C
But I still feel alone
Verse 2:
C Am
I see their faces, look in their innocent eyes

They're just children from the outside
C
I'm working hard, I tell myself they'll be fine
Am
They're independent
                 G
But on the inside, I can hear them saying...
(Chorus 1)
Bridge:
   Am F
So Father, give me the strength
      C G
To be everything I'm called to be
    Am F
Oh, Father, show me the way
   C
To lead them
          G
Won't You lead me?
Chorus 2:
C
To lead them with strong hands
G
To stand up when they can't
              F
Don't want to leave them hungry for love,
        Am G
Chasing things that I could give up

     C
I'll show them I'm willing to fight
G
And give them the best of my life
   F
So we can call this our home
Am G C
Lead me, 'cause I can't do this alone

        Am G C
Father, lead me, 'cause I can't do this alone

I hope you enjoyed the song!! I will provide a video from youtube on the sidebar so you can play along with the song. Thank you Sanctus Real for allowing God to bring Lead Me out of you!

God bless!!

I have found on many other sites that instead of the Am in the bridge it is corrected as Dm. I love this song I plan on learning it.

I was working the night shift when this song was released. I worked alone and would listen to Air1 all night. The first time I heard this song, I was put to my knees. This song yanks tears right out of my face worse than a Disney movie (when the mama dies). Man I believe God was leading him when he wrote it. It flows so incredibly well. His order is right on (Goes to God, about his wife, then his kids , then brings them together. Truly beautiful. I’m going to learn it and sing it to my wife. Now if I can just not crack at the end, I’ll be good. I’m not usually a pansy, but the power of The Lord is in this tune, and I am abruptly convicted every time. Thanks so much for the post

I heard James Amaya do this song on the Men of Honor simulcast June 15th, and loved it immediately. Now if I can just master minor chords!

Yeah I love the song too! Yeah the chords without capo : Replace “C” with “C#”, “Am” with A#m”, “G” with “G#”, “F” with”F#”. The best way to play would be in bar chords. Hope this helps!! God bless

This song is indeed inspiring, and the first time I heard it it just created a miracle in my heart. I want to play this song at church, might you know the alternative chords without a capo?
